@Parisa, well I seen some Turkish women alot recently, and there is one especialy on my Uni course who is real hot. So if Turkish women are kinda close to how Persian women look then yes, absolutely, I think they are hot and i find them exotic. But I have to say I haven't actually seen a persian woman, or not knowingly anyways.

ChiTown is right, I have never seen a Latina woman in the flesh. I am also very much guilty of using Latina/Latino in an incorrect manner, using it as an all encompassing term and including peoples who wouldn't necessarily be called a true Latina. I do like what I see on the TV, or websites that cater for that appeal, for sure, they also seem exotic to me; but I wouldn't say it's a fetish or anything like that. I can't quite put my finger on the exact reason they appeal to me, but I haven't really tried either. I am very much looking forward to my summer America trip where hopefully I can meet and talk to a much more diverse range of peoples than we have here in my city. I wouldn't say I have a thing for asians, but she is right that I have had asian phases in the past, I still find them attractive of course, but in all honesty it's rare that I fantasise about them; white seems to be the dominant race at the minute. I would say that if a woman is attractive then she's attractive whatever her race.

You know what, I actually had a bit of a think about what I said before, and can to a sort of realisation, I think it's because those women would often have black hair (though I of course understand that they wouldn't always). I knew I always liked brunettes but I do like jet black hair and had never fully realised how much it appealed before. So I'm going to say thankyou ChiTownHoney for making me think about it :)

I believe you, trust me ;) I have a good friend who is Assyrian, is that almost like Persian?? Isnt Persia modern day Iraq? I thought he was Mexican for the longest time untill someone corrected me, he's really good looking..he has the middle eastern nose though, and he also has dark eyes and features etc...while his mom and sister look pure white. Light skin, hazel eyes, blonde hair. All I know about Assyrians is that they hang out at the Hookah lounge, other than that, I dont know. :D I have a Vietnamese friend who loves Middle Eastern guys. That's a very interesting point, there's a lady I see often around town and she goes to the same bar that I go to sometimes, she's very beautiful and I had previously thought that she was of Italian heritage, but now that you mention it she could well be Latina American.

perhaps, perhaps not. Latina's are every race from chinita to white to black and everything in between. We have black, brown, red, and blonde hair and can range from snow white to so black that they're purple.

But thats only if you look at Latina as an ethnicity and not a race...if that's the the case, and I hope it is, you might as well put blinders on. Race is more segregated than ethinicity.

I knew that Latinas had much varity in their apperance, which is great, varity is the spice of life as they say. I'm terrible at telling the various peoples of the world apart, which while it is tantamount to ignorance on my part, for which I apologise, it is uninformed inexperience through lack of real world encounters and knowledge rather than a maliciousness. Unfortunately I no longer have the explanation of what exactly constitutes a true latina or else I would go back and study it. It was quite some time ago, and the information was very interesting but having no reason to put it into practice and having alot on my mind recently I have forgotton it.

While many indiginous kept their traditions alive by forming their own communities...most adapted to the new law of their land and spoke the Spanish tongue and mixed in with the Mestizos...

That is why you see brown indians speaking Spanish today who call themselves "Latinos". They are as ignorant as they come. Their brown skin reflects an indiginous heritage and a history of being raped and conquered by the real Hispanics. That is why many Mexican-Americans do not use the term "Hispanic" as it is a scar..the white blood in them only reminds them of the rape and conquest of their ancestors.

I'm not saying I completely think this way...but alot of people do...Thats just a little bit of whats wrong with the ethnic labels..

Thankyou very much for the explanation, it was very interesting. I mean I knew about the Spanish Conquistadors etc, we europeans have a lot to answer for, and not just in the Americas, I mean worldwide. Still there was lots I didn't know in there.

Actually, while Chi's history of the conquest is accurate, latest research has revealed that caucasians were present in the Americas long before Colombus, as early as 35.000 BC. So in terms of race, the indigenous people were of mixed descent before the Spanish arival.

Also, there is no brown race. The native americans are asians.

By the way...by BROWN RACE, I meant all the Mestizo descended sons of the Mexica Empire, which is meant not literally as a "race", but as an identity. I am quite aware of the literal racial makeup of indiginous people. They were of mongol descent for the most part and NOT ALREADY MIXED WHITE. If that were the case, they would not have looked up at Cortes as a God because of his light skin.

However, I am not arguing about exact racial makeup, I am making a point about identity.

Thats cool that you dont discriminate based on culture, I wasnt sure how the culture outside the old country was. I dont discriminate either when it comes to dating. However like you, there is a certain look I tend to gravite towards. After dating a few guys after me and my ex broke up I came to the conclusion I am not all that attracted to white guys. I think they look really good, but they dont have that 'umph' that makes me graviate towards them. I tried dating a few but it never worked out past a friend stage.
