The Movies & Sitcoms Thread
Hey.
I loved the discussion about 'The American Horror Story' in the General Rape Forum so I thought we could start a 'Movie & Sitcoms Thread', talking about any kind of movies & tv programs. I usually get really inspired by stories happening in asylums. I haven't seen The American Horror Story or any sitcoms taking place in mental institutes but I've seen movies about it : One Flew Over A Cuckoo's Nest, Girl Interrupted, Shutter Island........what else should I see ? I love stories taking place in Asylums because it takes a lot of talent for a director to write scripts for nut characters. A lot of people think actors playing crazy people just need to drool and shiver and crawl on the floor but it's actually much more than that. A director need psychology knowledge to make it look realistic, ex : a guy suffering from personality disorder constantly switching between different behaviors needs accurate words in the script for his character to sound real, a guy suffering from dementia should always be talking about stuff from his past surrounding the trauma that made his mind loose contact with reality.. I think I can say movies about madness and neurosis in different degree are the most inspiring to me as a movie lover, even if they don't take place in asylums. I recommend a wonderful movie about a dancer suffering from personality disorder, hallucinations and acute depression : Black Swan. :skull-lov starring Nathalie Portman and Vicent Cassel. Which movies and sitcoms have you seen lately ? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...-swan-2010.jpg |
I'm addicted to Brooklyn Nine Nine. Funniest show I've seen in a long time! Been on a Mel Brooks and Pink Panther kick, movie wise.

As a kid I hated the idea behind Full House. From the times when I got part of an episode because someone else was watching it, it always seemed like they had the audience laugh at every little thing Michelle said when it wasn't even funny.
Well there was nothing good on the TV one day and I just decided to watch it out of sheer boredom. It was the episode where Joey teaches Michelle how to ride a bike without training wheels. A few humorous jokes were told. I laughed. And Joey did a very impressive Bullwinkle impersonation. At the end of the episode I didn't love the show, but I didn't hate it like I used to either. After watching a couple of episodes and actually giving the show a chance I find that I like it. |
I've just heard Stephen King is gonna get behing the cameras to redirect Brian De Palma version of his book Carrie. I'm a bit skeptical, I don't know what King can do as a director.

Today I've seen Any Given Sunday. Starring Al Pacino, James Wood and Cameron Diaz.
Pretty good. Can people from the Us tell me if it is a realistic vision of American football ? Thanks Ps : whow American Football ain't no pussy game..all these big guyz... I wouldn't stand up for long on the play ground with them...there's a scene in the shower with these guyz naked, it reminded me of Chitownhoney fantasy about soccer guys raping her in the lockers room lol. Talking about Chi I miss her and I'd like to know what she's doing now.. http://www.impawards.com/1999/poster...y_ver3_xlg.jpg |
