Some of you may be aware of a website named linkdn? It is for professionals to network on. It's owned by a New Zealand company, as seems rather popular amongst lawyers, recruitment consultants, and other minor occupations here in the UK.

Any way, this week it seems a young female barrister and a 50-something male lawyer have kicked up a bit of a fuss over an exchange on their linkdn accounts.

The barrister first contacted the lawyer to add him to her group of contacts. He accepted, with a comment to her complimenting her on her profile photograph. He wrote something along the lines of it being the most attractive photo he had seen on the website.

Yeah, I bet he says that to all the girls.

She comes back with an accusation that he had sexually objectified her and eroticised her photo, and told him he was a mysoginist. Not stopping there, she then went on to put the exchange on Twitter.

Am I missing something? At what point did complimenting someone on their appearance actually come to equate with sexual objectification, and eroticisation?

Yes, I get that some, a lot, of women, are often pestered by men, and can in some circumstances be made to feel vulnerable. Surely though, such an off the cuff and non-threatening remark should not incite such an explosive response?

One UK tabloid female journalist was extremely dismissive of this woman "This is about drawing attention to herself. In my day, before the raft of equality legislation when women were expected to achieve on their own hard work and merit, rather than advancing on the back of filling quotas that created a culture of entitlement, I just took such remarks on the chin, kept my head down, and proved my abilities like any body else had to." Or something along those lines, I am quoting from memory here.

The same journalist went on to write today that if someone can't compliment a member of the opposite sex in such a manner, then the human race is seriously fucked. Not her words this time, mine, but it captures her sentiment completely. Apart from to add that the human race might be seriously without a fuck!

I saw this story. I thought it was insane. How on earth can you not just take a compliment as it is intended? Maybe she never got compliments in her life, who knows.

But I enjoy compliments, every very explicit ones.

After the third paragraph, I thought the 50 something male lawyer was complimenting the photographer.

I Googled the incident and it seems that the older gentleman said in his original reply that the photograph should win a prize. In response to the madness, he too claims he was complimenting the quality of the photo.

If you frequent Linkdn, you see that the photo below should win some sort of prize.

Apparently she has won awards for her barristering, so she might be good at it. Or she might just be in favour with certain circles. Who knows?

Anyway, it turns out she has previously made, publicly, remarks that might be interpreted as sexist, sexually objectifying, and misandrist, on social networking sites. Including the use of the phrase "hot stuff" to describe a male acquaintance at Cambridge university where she is currently on sebatical.

Are we even allowed to point out that the pot has called the kettle "black" these days, or is that racist?

She has reassured the world though that she is not a "Feminazi" even though she has described entering male dominated work places, such as construction (yeah, I'm sure as a human rights lawyer she has plenty of experience on a building site) as repugnant.

Prolly because she is quite simply, a cunt.

Meanwhile, in Luton, the local council are offering male only swimming lessons on a Friday evening. Reason given? Cultural. Men are required to cover themselves from navel to knee. Women have the choice of attending swimming lessons at a smaller pool that is harder to access, or attending more expensive lessons later on in the evening.

In other words, Luton council have bowed down to the greater authority of Sharia Law, requiring that men and women be segregated. They have to dress it up as culture, because it would be discrimination against other religions to admit that the reason was "because of Islam".

It's fine to discriminate on cultural grounds, just not religious ones!

You're missing the point. I'm sure the rag-wearing cunts that came up with this particularly policy had a very indepth converstation with their lawyers and with the local police about hate crime, before they created this particular policy.

Religion and culture are not the same thing, if the law works in favour of one over the other.

I agree it's a nutcase policy. But it's been creeping in slowly for years. Anyone remember when we all said "Merry Christmas?" Then "Happy Holidays" crept in and now hardly anyone says Merry Christmas anymore. That Happy Holidays shit was so we don't offend cultures who don't celebrate Christmas. That Happy Holidays attitude has crept into everything in the west, so we don't offend Muslims. Guess what, Muslims don't give a thought about offending us and calling for us to be killed do they?

All I want is my Merry Christmas back. The Happy Holidays crowd can all fuck off.

Another thing, don't go to Germany any time soon. A friend of mine is married to a German girl from Munich and they went back there in May for a holiday. Apparently the place is swarming with refugees, mostly Muslims. The couple couldn't believe how bad it is now, you can't swing a cat for fear of hitting a refugee. Parts of Munich are no go for Germans now, and not just in Munich.
The stupid German politicians want Germany to be the nice guy in order to make up for the war. Fuck that, just come to terms with the past and deal with the present and turf the majority of those refugees back home.

During and prior to World War II, the Germans made unholy alliances with the Muslims. It seems that they shared the same anti-Jewish theme songs.

If you sleep with the devil, you will reap the rewards! Let the Germans sort out their crimes and correct the evils of their past.

The majority of Germans are now the kings of political correctness. Their over-corrections will undoubtedly result in yet another holocaust of different dimensions.

They are reaping the rewards of their previous crimes. So be it!

At the end of the war, Germany welcomed Turks as workers because millions of German men were dead or held as POW's and there was a severe shortage of manpower when it was needed badly to rebuild the shattered cities and infrastructure.
It probably made sense to import Turks, as the two countries had good established relations going back a long time.
But as you say HRH, they are reaping the rewards of their previous crimes. Unfortunately, the results will affect the whole of Europe and maybe even the wider world.
