Seriously, I'm curious if any of the moderators have crunched the numbers...also, what's a girl to do if there are truly creepy, rapey dudes who are here not because they're into a certain kind of FANTASY but because they are seriously fucked in the head and want to do real harm...and, yeah, I get it, if a guy wants to do real harm he'll just do it anyway.

Okay...are you asking whether the female membership on RB are 'actually' honest-to-goodness, "born with ovaries", estrogen loaded females, and not men pretending to be a 'Betty'?
Or are you asking whether females are just not interested in joining RB and/or interacting with the male RB population?
Reasonably, on sites like these the former question rears its head from time to time whether the 'females' are bona fide women. A male member told me, he thought I was a male (his reasons were stupid to say the least--his loss, not mine). I left him to his conspiracy theories. I know there are instances where a guy was found to have impersonated a female (not including roleplaying) and interacted with the unsuspecting male membership, much to the chagrin and/or embarrassment of a few males once they found out. So, it's not surprising when that kind of thing happens.
How would you know? You wouldn't unless the 'lady' in question confirmed it. I can't remember whether there was a 'gender' box to check when I registered on RB, but it really doesn't matter if there is or not. A person can always lie about their gender. So, there's no real way to tell if the person is really a female, short of meeting them (in person/video). Whether someone is willing to do that just to satisfy your curiosity? Unlikely if they don't feel that comfortable with you. The avatar is no real indicator either, simply using a female picture, kittens or whatever the hell women like to use only tells you so much. I can post a naked gal pic as my avatar and secretly be a 6'4" guy. :skull-big
What value would the "admin" or "moderators" find in undertaking a statistical analysis of how many females vs. males members are on RB? It might satisfy your curiosity, but I imagine it would be time-consuming and a waste of resources. It wouldn't prove if a woman was real or not, because they'd be using the available data.
As for the latter question--people choose who they want to interact with based on various criteria. One woman's perv is another woman's dream. Some females lurk until they feel comfortable interacting. I'm sure there are a variety of reasons females may not choose to join or interact. Life gets busy.
On the fear factor thing--I think a number of 'females' come to sites like these because they enjoy the 'perv' factor or at least the idea of indulging a fantasy in a setting they find safer--online. Perhaps some try it on for size--find out it's not for them, or get what they can out of it and move on. You asked 'what's a girl to do...if a guy is 'seriously fucked in the head'?
First, I hope everyone here, male or female, exercises common sense and good judgment (let's face it, some will not) in choosing to interact or 'meet' someone from the online world. Ultimately it's up to the woman to choose to interact with someone like that. She can ignore those types, not respond, ask them to cease from bothering her, seek the advice of the mods, and/or report the harasser. Hopefully the combined efforts would resolve the issue (Mods, please correct me if I'm wrong--it's my personal experience talking). At the end of the day it's up to a her whether to respond to any interaction with another RB member.
In defense of pervs and cavemen personality types, it is a rape fantasy site after all. No surprise there if you meet males or females that carry it like that.
If you're wondering whether any of the RB females will ever 'give you any action' (a nod to Rotter), ask and you just might get it. For twenty 'no'. responses..there's going to be a yes in there somewhere.
Perhaps more females will come--there seem to be a few joining RB. Perhaps more will interact. They might even be 'real' females. Keep hope alive...:)
I am female...hear me roar. (or scream if you're chasing me down a dark alley). ;)
