Before we go flagging our support of the freedom to wag our tongues in which ever directon it pleases us, how many of you have actually stop to think of what freedom really is?

Oh, it is so fashionable these days to go shouting our support for "freedom".

...and what has it done to improve your life, your lifestyle, your "soul"?

Are you people all existentialists?

Freedom does involve making a choice, does it not?

We always have a choice. Existentialism does not stand for any kind of determinism except the one that determines our individual facts (existence)
We choose, and in choosing (in good or bad faith) we define ourselves. Choice is a definition of an existence in the world, towards an object outside of itself.

I am HUGE on no censorship,etc....... (Its even more a problem TODAY than it was in 2006)

I see China & the UK mentioned. Can someone show me where they are confiscating computers & jailing people in the US for this? Just curious thats all.

while I can understand the need to protect freedom of speech, how far do you go.

The same argument is the same to allow posting of child porn, which as any right thinking person knows is wrong.

CR, at the moment in the UK it is illegal to possess images of extreme sex, not just rape, but BDSM.

Also last yeah a british blogger was arrested, though subsequently released, for postinga story depicting the kidnap, rape,torture and then murder of Birt girl group Girls Aloud...

No no no! Child porn is wrong because children take part in porn. In a fictional story no child (or adult) takes part! Nobody gets hurted to any way! It might sounds sick to some -including me- but our rape fantasies sound sick to some as well.
The action of child porn is wrong, the fantasy of it is as wrong as any other fantasy. So, banning the action is bless, banning the fantasy is unfair censorship.

Not really, actually it was when people understood that they dont want to talk all the time about rape fantasies!
RB's members have more interests than that and this is the reason we can enjoy today the idle talk section, or the rowdy room. :p
