Not for long prey, now that google have lost their case, quote [BBC]
A federal judge has ordered internet search engine Google to turn over some search data, including 50,000 web addresses, to the US government. However, Judge James Ware denied a request that Google hand over a list of people's search requests.

The Justice Department had wanted access to search records to help prevent access to online pornography.

The judge said privacy considerations led him to deny part of the department's request.

"This concern, combined with the prevalence of internet searches for sexually explicit material, gives this court pause as to whether the search queries themselves may constitute potentially sensitive information," he said in his ruling.

Google lawyer Nicole Wong said it was reassuring that the judge's decision had "sent a clear message about privacy".

"What his ruling means is that neither the government nor anyone else has carte blanche when demanding data from internet companies," she said.

Public perceptions

The ruling said the request for 50,000 web addresses, or URLs, was relevant for use in a statistical study the government is undertaking to defend the constitutionality of its child anti-pornography law.

Earlier, the government had reduced its request to just 50,000 web addresses and roughly 5,000 search terms from the millions or potentially billions of addresses it had initially sought.

"The expectation of privacy by some Google users may not be reasonable," Judge Ware wrote, "but may nonetheless have an appreciable impact on the way in which Google is perceived, and consequently the frequency with which users use Google."

The case has focused attention on the issue of personal information held by internet companies.

The US Government is seeking to defend the 1998 Child Online Protection Act, which has been blocked by the Supreme Court because of legal challenges over how it is enforced.

It wants the data from the search engines to prove how easy it is to stumble over porn on the net.

I'm not sure this is all that bad, Grm. I'm not an expert on these matters, but if you stay away from the sites with kiddie porn, or, if you happen to open one, to close it out right away, I don't think you have too much to worry about (yet).

The question is, would they include text, drawn-illustrations, and prurient-but-not-nude/porno stuff as well? Obviously, content with photos of kiddie porn are targeted. They have also restricted (or excluded) photo manipulations depicting kiddie porn. But I think simple illustratons and text (i.e. fiction) porn involving minors is still okay.

"Still."

Incidentally, for those of you who subscribe to met-art.com, have you noticed that NONE of the chicks looks anywhere near 20 years old?? If you check the archives, there's still stuff posted of girls who at least look kind of young (i.e. 16-19). Best to save that stuff on a CD, because I'll bet it gets yanked sooner or later!

i understand the fear and it is justified. kiddie porn is the start. after that what's next and how do we define whats legal. i'm all for the rregulations and going after those who make it. adult fantasies are just that fantasies, leave kids out of it. the problem comes with politics. when it becomes popular to take it to the next level and go after those who look at fantasy roleplay sites, nude celeb sites or any sites that do not fit the societal norm then its checkout time boys and girls. so in lieu of that stay away from google if they hand over your search records. and be mindful of where you go. better safe than sorry this day and age.

About the pics of girls from 16-19, then it is a question about where you live. In my country, pics of girls over 16 in magazines are not iligal. Only if they are below 16.
I agree with wilddean. Who will they target next? Up here, they are talking about making animal sex iligal to view and own. Not that i have much intrest in that but i do not like to be told what i can do or watch in my own home.
I grew up in a country where freedom was the key word ( under responcibility of course ) but in the past 15 years, more and more regulations has been imposed on people and big brother is watching. People must be pretty naive if they can still claime that we live in a free world. We only have the freedom we are "allowed" to have. The world is becomming a shitty place imo.

I salute the people who are and will continiue to bring us the good stuff we like to watch and enjoy, even though it might be risky in the future.

First: the thread started with a request for good rape sites. So let's accomdoate thegreatchuck1* with sites. Grm, would you refresh us on whether/how/when/what links can be posted? As opposed to just giving the names of the sites....

Sometime ago I subscribed to "ravishedbrides.com." It's a victim-theme that really turns me on, thegreatchuck1--those who know me on the boards know that. It wasn't too bad--but I let it expire after a couple of months. They were slow to post new content. They used the same models over and over. And they also used the same ugly wedding dress in several scenes--ugh! (That's half my fetish!) Maybe they've added more, better content--it's been about 2 years. Anybody know anything new?

Having nothing to do with rape is met-art.com. They're using unquestionably 20-year-old-plus models now. But if you check the archives back to the 1990s--and there's a lot!--you can find younger-looking girls (but no early teens). It's a $100/year, with a lot of content, but all art-poses.

Regarding politics: both sides of the porno issue fear "the slippery slope." The conservatives are apalled at how far things have gone, and worry about how far things may yet go, and the liberals (libertines?) fear a slippery-slope roll-back.

Wildean brings up,

the next level and go after those who look at fantasy roleplay sites, nude celeb sites or any sites that do not fit the societal norm then its checkout time boys and girls. so in lieu of that stay away from google if they hand over your search records.

"Celebrity" smut is an interesting issue. The US has already acted against digital manipulation of children. Anti-kiddie porn has been argued because "somewhere, there is a real child victim." Fair enough. But a photoshop creation has no child victim--they're addressing content alone. I can imagine a celebrity suing over digitilized creations with just her face as an invasion of privacy. Then there would be precedents for the restrictions/prosecutions of fictional content! Then it would be a modest jump to kiddie-smut text fiction. Then you can say goodbye to mrdoubles child-sex stories.

Remember: Google kow-towed to the Red Chinese!

A long post. Thanks for bearing with me!

I'm happy to see links, as long as they don't deplete our members and visitors, or are deliberate advertising of other sites that are not for the edification of our members[ spam ].

Okay, so this is it?

We members can post commercial links we want to recommend (within the limits of legal content and things which aren't likely to harm/deplete RapeBoard), but the sites themselves cannot post themselves.

So how do we tell if it's a member or a promoter doing the posting? Just figure things out as best we can, case-by-case?

Yes I think thats about right, you can usually tell if its blatant spamming, i.e if someone is posting just to advertise another site and not for the edification of our members.

Here's a smut site even the most jaded conservative can endorse:

www.meter-maids-in-bondage.com

Actually, there's no such thing. Just wish there was! In my city, before a metermaid can get her badge and hits the streets, she has pass a test to prove just how touch she is: she has to cook and eat one of her own kids!

Actually, gal4, the "metermaids" was just a gag....sorry...didn't mean to lead you on. Just an idea that the Left and the Right wings of the pono issue could find some agreement on!
