Could someone please recommend some sites to learn the basics of bondage, especially in regards to ropes? I'm not looking to learn anything real intricate just the basics.

There isn't really much you need to learn, stalker. There are a few tips and tricks you can learn, but most are common sense and trial and error.

I suggest you look at some of the pictures on this site and others to get ideas, but don't get hung up on making complicated knots or pretty ropework. They do that for visual effect in the movies - nobody does that in real life except for serious bondage lovers. Just look at basic positions and how to get the effect and access you want.

also never tie directly on joints or body parts with very little padding. blood flow should be maintained and if feet or hands begin to turn red or worse purple its time to remove the restraints. this can lead to bodily harm.

hogtied.com has several excellent tutorials for rope bondage, i think they're a year or three old though, might have to dig through their archives to find them.

On the contrary, every Dom I've been with, and even moreso my favourite two (one being my Master), is very, very into the ropework. It's art. (My Master actually has informed me that I'm going to be his art project at some point next week, using those words)

Bondage should be elegantly done; you want her to feel degraded, and you want to look damn stylish degrading her.

Yes, Jen, and that's why I said "except for serious bondage lovers." I don't want a person just starting out to be put off by the elegant ropework of a really serious bondage dom.

It's too much fun to make it scary in the beginning!

BTW - I'm jealous.
